James founded The ID Co in 2011 having previously been COO at Money Dashboard.
The ID Co builds products based on (open) bank data that help businesses onboard their customers quickly. The company’s DirectID, service, helps businesses like lenders to create exceptional customer experiences by removing friction caused during the application process by the current challenges of risk, compliance, fraud, and regulation. Its products help solve business pains such as assessing customers’ affordability and verifying their account information, thereby offsetting credit risk.
The platform currently connects to 5,500 banks in 30 countries and will soon support Open Banking in the UK. The ID Co presently have more than 30 customers on the platform from retail banks to online lenders. The business is authorised by the FCA to provide AISP (Account Information Service Provider) services to the UK market.
